Tides is one of those spots that makes remote working feel like a pretty incredible way to live. Being able to open your laptop somewhere this beautiful in the middle of a workday feels almost too good to be true.

This spacious bar and eatery sits beside the Maitai River, with the water wrapping around the venue and the changing ocean tide continually reshaping the view. There’s plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, while palm trees, sun umbrellas, a louvred roof and ample patio heaters create an inviting outdoor area made for long lunches and unhurried afternoons. Vibrant yet tasteful artwork brings the space to life, and the excellent hospitality makes it a joy to settle in and stay for a while.

With hotel guests coming and going, having a laptop open feels completely natural if you want to get a few things done while enjoying the surroundings. Power is limited to two spots indoors, so it’s best to arrive charged, although charging is possible if one is free. A beautiful, comfortable and wonderfully relaxed place to enjoy the lifestyle side of working remotely.
